1985-7    Read for, B.A. Hons Degree in Contemporary Western Art, Ecclesiastical History and Comparative Religion at
                 University College of Chester.
1987        Obtained and upper 2:1 grade for Manchester University - 'Religion and the Arts' Post Graduate qualifying course.
1989        Registered for Post Graduate research into Sikh Art at Manchester University.
1990/91  Received a year scholarship to carry out field research in India on the topic of Sikh Religious Art. Although we
                  were primarily Based at the Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan (Delhi), the research extended to Institutes and sources
                  of original material in Calcutta, Meerut and Amritsar.The research is leading to an M.Phil. Have visited India
                  several times since 1980 during which time we have built up  a personal archive of reference material relating to
                  different aspects of Indian culture.
1994        Elected members of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts.
2002        Elected Trustees of ‘Milap Festival Trust’, UK.
 
 
 
Curatorial Work
 
 
2008    Curated ‘Sikhs In Print’ exhibition at St George’s Hall, Liverpool. Focusing on the portrayal of the Sikh community
              through printed material from the Twins Studio Archive (ranging from 1830 to the present day) this show highlighted
              the shared history between the Sikhs and Europe and was organised to mark both the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi and the
              Christian celebration of St George’s Day. 23rd April - 20th June 2007.
 
1999    Curated and co-ordinated 'Zindabad 1999:Festival of Punjab Art and Culture' - Celebrating the 300th
              anniversary of the Founding of the Khalsa in Vaisakhi1699. Exhibitions, workshops and Asian family day.
 
1997    Founded the organisation, 'MALI', and Co-ordinated 'Zindabad 97' - Wirral's first Asian Arts Festival –
              (celebrating 50 years of Indian Independence). August 15th - October 13th. This Included an exhibition of
              traditional Indian crafts, four contemporary Asian art exhibitions, an Indian poster exhibition, performance arts
              events (theatre and classical and pop Indian music and dance), an Asian family fun day and associated
              workshops
 
1997    Curated two shows ('Twin Perspectives:The Second Generation' and '50 Images of Freedom':Popular Indian
              Posters from the 1920's - 1950's) for 'AZADI' festival organised by the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston,
